1.英語村是什麼? What is the purpose of the English village?
水燦林國際英語村建立的目的是為了讓當地學生增加英語能力與未來的競爭力。我們提供多媒體資訊的教學輔助讓學生完成ㄧ日遊的課程，並讓學生得到全方面的英語能力，而我們希望透過全英語的教學方式來給學生最好的英語學習環境。The Shuitsanlin International English Village was built to enhance local students's English ability and global competence.Students are encouraged to complete the full day program by attending all the sections in the village by experiencing a holistic English environment with mixed media. This enables students to learn English by all the facets of the acquisition of a language. Local students are encouraged to improve English proficiency utilizing the whole language method.


2.英語村的設備有哪些? What are the facilities at the English Village?
英語村位在視聽教室下一樓處。原有三間教室的一樓一並成為國際英語村。英語村分成四大區域: The village is located on the first floor below the media room. There were three classrooms that were converted into the International English Village.  The village compartmentalizes 4 sections:

A. Lobby area 大廳

i).大廳又分為三部份: 等候區 入境 與行李掃描。The lobby area has three sections namely the waiting area, check-in counter and a luggage X-ray.

ii).整個大廳提供登船的程序使學生們可以與外籍老師互動。The environment feels like an authentic boarding area of a ship/airport where students can interact with the foreign teacher in the lobby.

B. On the Ship   船艙

i) 船艙的部分有船艙本身以及出境的空橋。The ship area has two sections the cabin area and the exit bridge.

ii) 我們提供真實的船艙座椅，而學生能與外籍老師互動學習。The environment feels like an authentic cabin with seats as a usual cabin and students can interact with the foreign teacher on the ship.

C. Banking sector   兌換區

i) 兌換區提供貨幣的兌換以及提款機(ATM). The banking sector section includes a currency exchange and an ATM.

ii) 學生們能夠在兌換區與外籍老師互動，學會用英文來兌換貨幣及操作提款機。The environment feels like an authentic banking sector where students can learn how exchange money and use an ATM with the foreign teacher in the banking sector.

D. Shopping sector    購物區

i) 購物區包括交誼廳，雜貨店，收銀機和郵箱。The shopping sector includes a lounge, grocery store with cashier/till point and a post box.

ii) 學生可以透過與外籍老師的互動學習有關購物的相關英文。The environment feels like an authentic shopping sector where students can interact with the foreign teacher in the sector.

3.誰能夠參加英語村? Who can attend the Shuitsanlin English Village?
所有雲林縣小學五六年級生。ㄧ次不得超過30人。All grade 5 and 6 students in elementary in Yunlin County. The amount of students is limited to fewer than 30.


4.為何成立英語村? Why did you establish English Village?
培養學生們學習英語的樂趣。To enhance local students’ English learning interests.
使雲林縣走向英語的趨勢。To activate English teaching in Yunlin County.

擴展學生的國際觀與國際競爭力。To widen local students’ global view and improve their global competence.

用不同的活動教學來啟發當地學生們學習。To inspire local students through multiple learning activities.

增加學生們在實用方面講英語的信心。To build student’s confidence in speaking English in a real world scenario

5. 英語村的一日遊報名費? What is the fee to attend the one day tour at Shuitsanlin International EnglishVillage?

Entrance fee is NTS 150, each student will receive a passport, bag and lunch. The school applying for an appointment will be re-imbursed NTS 6000 for transportation.

6. 英語村有哪些規範? What are the rules when attending the English Village?

i) Administrators have the right to inform the school applying for an appointment to cancel the appointment on natural disasters, like a typhoon hitting, and so on.

ii) People in the English Village have to respect the administrators’ instruction, or the administrators have the right to keep them away from the Village.

iii) People in the English Village have to be responsible for their own safety.

iv) At least one teacher from the school applying for an appointment is required on the scene.

v) There are introductions and lesson plans on the English Village website. It would be better for students to have previews. The website is http://ceag.phc.edu.tw/~edueng/.
